What’s Going On With Plane Crashes

A Delta Flight crashed while landing in Toronto.

Another week, another plane crash… this time upon landing at the Toronto airport. Fortunately, (miraculously) everyone survived.

Delta Flight 4819 crashed and turned over during its attempted landing at snowy Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday. The flight was arriving from Minnesota. You can find the remarkable video online, which shows the plane crashing down to the runaway abruptly, before flipping on its side and partially combusting into flames.

It is believed that the pilot landed far too hard on the runaway and did not “flare” the plane (dip the back of the plane so that it lands before the front of the plane. i.e. landing on an angle). The impact then caused damage to the right wing and landing gear, which caused the plane to flip upside down.

The snow on the runway might have thrown off the pilot, however, others have pointed out that the planes are equipped with instruments to help you know how close you’re getting to the ground. The pilot has not been identified yet, but a male’s voice could be heard on the communication from the cockpit, which has since been released since the crash.

21 people were injured and sent to the hospital, but all 80 people aboard (76 passengers and four crew members) survived. 20 of those hospitalized were released within 48 hours. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Toronto Pearson President and CEO Deborah Flint mentioned the “extreme conditions” at the airport from two separate storms over the weekend that might have made it tougher on the pilot. Toronto got more than 20 inches from Thursday to Sunday, according to Flint.

“Monday was a clear day, though, and it was an operational recovery day for Toronto Pearson,” Flint added. When asked if the weather could have had something to do with the crash, Flint said “this would not be a time for us to have theory or to speculate.”

Toronto Airport Fire Chief Todd Aitken said on Monday that the runway was dry and there were no crosswind conditions at the time of the crash. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is leading the investigation and investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are assisting. Investigators were expected to review the aircraft the last two days, while also examining the runway.

“At this point, it’s far too early to say what the cause of the accident might be. However, we will share more information once we’re able to,” said Ken Webster, from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

The Delta regional jet was a CRJ 900 aircraft operated by Endeavor Air.

This accident comes just weeks after the first major airline crash in the U.S. in nearly 16 years.

Trump’s Taking On NYC Congestions Pricing

I think this may unite the parties.

President Trump, a New Yorker himself, is looking out for his fellow New Yorkers, as he takes aim at the congestion pricing tolls in the city.

Manhattan began congestion pricing on January 5th, charging more for those entering the city during peak hours (such as business hours during the week). While the first of its kind in the U.S., this followed a similar toll from other cities like London, however many New Yorkers were upset that Manhattan’s tolling begane much earlier (5 AM).

Governor Kathy Hochul instituted this policy in an attempt to help finance repairs to mass transit.

In a letter to Hochul on Wednesday, President Trump outlined his objections to the program and said that federal officials would contact the state to “discuss the orderly cessation of toll operations.”

The letter cited the cost to working-class motorists, the use of revenue from the tolls for transit upgrades rather than roads, and the reach of the program compared with the plan approved by federal legislation as reasons for the decision.

The letter did not indicate a specific date by which the federal government intended to end the program.

Nonetheless, President Trump took to social media to exclaim: “CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!”

Meanwhile, Ms. Hochul defended the program and vowed to fight the President’s move. “We are a nation of laws, not ruled by a king,” Hochul said. “We’ll see you in court.”

In other cities around the world, congestion pricing has cut traffic and vehicle emissions, as many sought out other transportation modes (such as bikes, buses or, in New York, the train/subway).

Who is the most attractive President of all-time?

I’ve always been a William Taft guy myself.

Well, AI apparently has the long awaited answer. After all, isn’t this the exact reason why AI was invented?

A popular trend on TikTok has become users making videos in which they rank the Presidents by their looks. So, CS2 Experts at CSDB.gg used AI to get a scientific answer. And the winner is? Bill Clinton!

President Clinton was graded as the most attractive president of all-time with a score of 6.2 out of 10 (Yikes. A 6.2 is the best we can do??)

Pictures of presidents during their time in office, spanning presidents from 1925-2025 were examined by an AI tool to measure their attractiveness on a scale of 0-10.

While Clinton was the winner, President Obama was the runner up (score of 6.1). Calvin Coolide (1923-1929) was third with a 6.0 score, followed by Gerald Ford (5.9). President Biden was fifth (5.8), while George H.W. Bush was tied with his son (both 5.7).

In maybe the biggest surprise of all, JFK was only ranked 7th! With a score of 5.6. Harry S. Truman was right behind him (5.5) and FDR was ninth (5.4), just ahead of President Trump . FDR was ranked 5.38, while Trump was 5.37. So the two were… splitting hairs (pun intended?).

Rounding out the list: Richard Nixon was 11th (5.36), Herbert Hoover was 12th (5.1), Ronald Reagan was 13th (5.0), Dwight D. Eisenhower was 14th (4.7), Lyndon B. Johnson was 15th (4.38) and Jimmy Carter was 16th (4.35). You’re welcome.

Zach Bryan, Not Helping His Case.

Just pretend to be a nice guy for a while man.

Zach Bryan, the popular country music star, is back in the headlines. This time for an argument with some patrons at a bar following a game of billiards.

Bryan was at a bar in New York City’s West Village on Monday night and was invited to play pool with some other people there around Midnight (speaking of music, cue “Sometime Around Midnight”). The group played three games, all of which Bryan apparently lost.

According to witnesses, Zach’s attitude “changed on the drop of a dime,” as the billiards losses piled up.

Bryan’s main issue became the fact that one of the members of this other group was recording everything with their Meta glasses. The video, which does time jump a few times, captures the group showing Bryan the Meta glasses and, later, Bryan wearing them himself while saying: “you’re gonna see some terrible things tonight.”

However, when the video picks up next, Bryan seems to be in a different head space, as he argues with one of the members of the group, who is recorded saying “I’m not trying to record your ass. I’m trying to record my shit with my friends, for memories, to have fun, and you’re just being a douche.”

Bryan responded with: “that’s the gayest thing I’ve ever heard.” He also said “I wanna rip them off your face so bad, ‘cause we’re at a bar.” Bryan’s friends quickly jumped in, getting Bryan away, paying their tab and leaving the bar.

Now, while Bryan might seem like the bad gay (again) and probably didn’t use the best verbiage… we should also ponder - should these guys be filming someone else hanging out at the bar? Especially when that person is a celebrity? Yes, we can acknowledge that Bryan could have just opted out of the pool game and avoided it all.

But additionally, multiple witnesses at the bar told TMZ that he and his friends asked them not to film them more than six times and that, reportedly, that group of guys continued to film Bryan in a “very secretive and coy way.” That’s pretty lame, too.

Verbal Sparring Between Trump and Zelensky

Hey guys, let’s end the war first. Banter later.

While the attempts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine continue, so, too, does the war of words between President Volodymyr Zelensky and… President Trump.

President Trump called Zelensky a “Dictator without Elections” yesterday, while Zelensky accused Trump of pushing Russia propaganda. This all comes only a day after President Trump also accused Zelensky of starting the war in the first place.

Zelensky told reporters yesterday that Trump is “living in this disinformation space. I want there to be more truth in Trump’s team.”

Trump then fired back by saying that Zelensky has misused U.S. aid and has “done a terrible job” as president.

“He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden ‘like a fiddle,’” Trump wrote on social media yesterday. “A Dictator without Elections, Zelensky better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left.”

Trump’s comments echoed Vladimir Putin’s calls for Ukraine to hold elections, something that is barred under Ukrainian law during wartime. Putin has called Zelensky “illegitimate,” as his term expired in 2024.

All the while, the U.S. and Russia have been attempting to negotiate an end to the war… without Ukraine at the table. And this latest vocal sparring probably won’t help those matters either.
